New construction transforms the industrial structure at 1302 Dragon Street into a showcase for art embodying a contemporary sensibility. Designed by Dallas architect Mark Hopper (AIA), the gallery’s lighted façade is a canvas for image, text and video. The entrance leads guests through a wooden portal into elevated galleries washed in calibrated LED light. Creating a museum-like experience, varied ceiling heights, architectural niches and alcoves allow the galleries and works to be revealed in stages providing patrons with a sense of discovery.
A poetic rooftop sculpture garden and event space provides panoramic views from downtown Dallas to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
The exhibits, which spotlight Art, Technology and New Media, will include dynamic fine art and scholarly programming that explore the digital environment. Zhulong Gallery will partner regularly with the community to create a positive legacy.
